Tractor
Kubota 7610
I have a Kubota B7610. This tractor has only one hydraulic outlet adaptor/fitting and it is roughly under the driver's seat on the right side. Without accessories the tractor hydraulic supply fitting has a bypass block bolted to the fitting. When an accessory is added the bypass plate is replaced with a plate with two hose fittings--one for supply and one for return. With a front loader attached this outlet is used for the feed/return hoses which are run along the frame to the loader joy stick.

I'm about to add a TnT to this tractor. To add an additional hydraulic powered implement, the factory approach is to use the power beyond ports on the loader control valve block. I'm not excited with the idea of running yet another set of hoses along the frame, this time from the front to the back of the tractor, for the TnT controls.

I've been thinking of machining another plate to mate to the tractor's supply/drain. This plate would have two supply fittings and two return fittings. I'd run the front loader from this just like usual. But, this would put a second set of hydraulic fittings at the back of the tractor. And, I'd hook up the TnT lines here. There is no relief valve in either the factory plate or my plate. Since I have a backhoe (which runs off a PTO hydraulic pump) on this tractor, I'd have the TnT cylinders fitted with quick disconnects.

Now, my question is: Since I'm not extremely familiar with hydraulics, does anybody see anything wrong with this approach? It seems to me this would be a cleaner installation than running a longer set of hoses back to the loader controls.

Opinions?

Could you tap into the existing hydraulics at the plate with a tee for the new stuff?

Your description sounds like you are going to end up with the valves hooked up in parallel. The valves need to be hooked up in series.
Does your Loader valve have Power Beyond? This can be determined by looking at the valve. Power Beyond will have 3 hoses hooked to valve besides the 4 hoses to run loader.
One hose will be hooked to in port of valve.
Another will be hooked to Out port of valve.
Third hose will be hooked to return port.
To hook up an additional valve, Remove hose from out port of loader valve. A hose will need to be run between out port of Loader valve to in port of new valve. Run a hose from out port of new valve to same place as hose removed from out port of loader valve. Original hose could be used if it is long enough to run to new valve.
If new valve has power beyond the return port will need to be teed into return of loader valve.

The remote valve must be connected in series with the loader valve. The easiest way to plumb up a remote valve with only one hydraulic outlet block on the tractor is as follows:

Find the PB hose from the loader and disconnect it from the outlet block (not from the loader valve). Depending on the type of connector on the hose, use a hex nipple or a female swivel (or even a QD) and connect this hose to a new length of hose that goes to the inlet on your remote valve.

Run a new hose from the PB of your remote valve to the hydraulic outlet block and connect it to where the loader hose was. You now have the remote valve in series with the loader valve.

Finally, run a hose from the outlet of the remote valve, and using a tee swivel connector, tee it into the loader return to tank line. This can be done where the loader's hose connects back into the transmission. You may need additional fittings depending on the loader hose connector. This is the only line that can be tee'ed into another since it is a "no pressure" line that only takes oil back to the transmission tank/sump.

For hoses use the same diameter hose as Kubota uses for the loader. On the B2410/B7610 I believe that they use 1/4" hose. The B2710/B2910/B7800 use 3/8" which you could also use. Just make sure you get the correct fittings.

This method is relatively simple and does not require the loader valve to be touched at all. Several TBN'ers have used this plumbing method with success.

My mind went blank on power beyond instead of out. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Thanks Mad, this approach looks like it will keep the hose count down, routes the hoses as I was hoping to do, eliminates the 4-port block I was going to make, and it corrects the error I made assuming two hoses instead of three.

What I've called the "return" line from the loader is actually the Power Beyond line. Looking at the manual I can see that now. The figure in the manual is easy to misread, the return line is only slightly visible in the figure. Duh, somehow I managed to miss the labeling first time through. Although I don't think I would have figured out what you've suggested if I had noticed. I sure would have noticed I was in trouble when I went to the tractor with parts and hoses in hand.

ronjhall, reading your post made me go back to the manual and look for the third line. Thanks.

Egon, ronjhall, mad, thanks for the replies. My approach didn't have a chance of working. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif I probably would have gone out and bought more hoses and used the "stock" approach when I actually got to wrenching on the tractor and found out I missed the real return line. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif I'd like to think I'd have gone out and scoped it out before ordering the parts, but you never know. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

If you don't have a local hydraulic shop to go to, try www.HydraulicHoseFittings.com . They are an advertiser on TBN and are probably the least expensive place around to get hydraulic fittings and hoses. Just make sure you know what fittings you will need on the hoses.
