Does your tractor have a "rate control lever" to regulate the drop speed of your 3pt hitch?

If not, what model do you have and what does your US operator's manual say about setting the drop rate?

Apparently the English translations of the grey market manuals say to use the rate control valve and set the "safety lock valve" fully open. Otherwise, you might break your toy. At least mine does. Problem is, some grey market tractors don't have a separate drop rate control and the lock valve is the only obvious means of controlling implement drop rate.

So, give us a hand, folks. How do you do it?

I have recently looked at some different models and I think maybe the YMXX20 and YMXX10's don't have such a lever. Could be wrong but from the ones I've looked at it appears that way.

I have a green YM2000. The only "valve" it has is a small lever to adjust the drop speed.

The YM1510 has a drop rate lever, separate from the position lock lever.

I have a green YM2000 and it has a stop valve with a T handle located in the center under the seat.
It also has a drop speed adjust lever which is very small [1.5" long] on the left hand side.

So far, looks like only grey markets are represented. Come on guys, surely there are some owners of US market Yanmars (YMXXX) around.

My 1602D has no drop control lever that I can find...........

My YM1700 has the drop rate valve under the seet too.

I have a T valve to control the drop rate and a second one to lock the 3pt.

I have a YM169D and it is set up similar to what Wombat has, T handle stop valve under the seat and smaller speed control, although I think it is on the right.

I have 276D and all that I know of is the safety lock valve. I will check my manual when I get home and see what it says.

Cheers - Dan

OK I have my 276D manual and it says that I only have one valve to control lowering speed and locking the hydraulic lift. As to how to adjust drop speed it says "Turning anticlockwise, lowering speed of hydraulic lift becomes faster. Adjust dropping speed so that it is slow enough to be safe." There is also a Warning - "Excessive speed of drop may cause damage or injury. Fully lowering implement should require at least two full seconds."

Hope this helps.

YM240 (US). Same as YM2000 & YM1700.

looks the same on a 169d. some others have posted about the T connector beneath the seat, in the front, that's the open/close valve... and, what saltfork wrote from the manual, same in the 169d manual.

My 336d has one valve that controls the rate and locks it also. It is somewhat similar to the above diagram.

Well I be.............

Found it to day........DID NOT know it was there...............

MY YM2000 has the identical setup as California's diagram.............2 Valves................The knob that you can clearly see, and the little lever dircetly under the seat with the "small" handle...............
...........AGAIN.........................Identical to Diagram above...........................

Hi All!
New member Greg Clark here. Thanks for this info! It is just what I was looking for. I just bought a YM2000 amd am getting my sea legs with it. The 3pt hitch was a bit of a mystery to me.

So far this forum has answered every question I had without having to even post a question!!! Great forum.

Greg

Welcome Greg,
This site is a world of valuable information. You will learn a lot about your tractor.

What part of Alabama are you from? I'm in northwest Alabama.
