Does someone that uses the tractor for a couple hours on the weekend really need a cab?

Probably not, but we could all drive open station cars too. I have never found convertibles to be popular either, most people buy cabins.

Not in my opinion...but that's an individual choice (mainly if the extra $$$ is worth it).

Don't worry dave, by the time you get used to functioning on no sleep, he will sleep through the night. Then once you get used to sleeping through the night, he will start waking up every few hours.

Last night, my son and I took a tour of some of the fields in the tractor. He was driving on my lap, and we saw some huge deer. three 10 pointers and a ton of 8's... It was nice to have the cab as we could get close to the deer and talk without them getting to scared. The deere are so used to tractors that they must think of them as food machines.

Well...I look at it like this...does someone who uses/needs a backhoe 3 times a year need one? I know my dad hasnt used his in approx 18 months, but he still wont part with it....
You guys with hoe's, how much do you ACTUALLY use them for digging and not as ballast?

People seem to have no problem justifying 8k for a hoe, but a cab at 5k is a "big deal"? I get benefit from my cab every single minute I use the tractor, be it -40 or 100 degrees outside. On top of all the bug/allergy/sun/etc benefits.
