I've been looking at one of the B2320 but while searching I've come across a l2800hst with FEL and field mower with 200 hours for about 4K less than a new B2320

I've got 3 acres with Two Horses I need to Mow and move manure.

The B series seems perfect but the larger tractor would be great when we build on our 20 acres in 4 or 5 years.

Is there a downside to having to big a tractor?

I have 17 acres but a neighbor farms at least 12 of it, I thought hard about a tractor when I was looking but decided on a 5240. The main week to week use for my tractor is finish mowing but I've used it for so much else I couldn't imagine now having gone smaller.

Can NEVER have TOO much Tractor !!!!
Maybe the right answer is 2 a big and a small !!

You didn't give us a whole lot of information to work with... :) Is the L setup like you want (correct tires, etc)?

I would lean towards the L but read and read about them first. Make sure the L28 has enough HP to do what you want. Maybe the buyer would give you a demonstration and let you mow with it a little.

Yes it comes with FEL and 5ft field mower

It has AG tires but would prefer R4 style.

I can speak for my BX... I am amazed every time I use it at how good it works. The B would be that much better. I highly recommend buying a HST model if you go with the new B.

If you really don't want ag tires I would just keep looking and pass up the L.

I would not want a tractor that was too big to store properly when not in use. I would not like to see my 10 to 20K investment left to the elements.
Considering the size range of the machines you have mentioned, it's much more likley you will regret the purchase of the smaller tractor than the bigger one.
I would say that the larger machine might leave you wishing you bought an even larger one, price not withstanding.
Get a big one

The L should be fine you could go even slightly bigger if your going to own more property without to much trouble.
You can go to big though, for instance i can't drive my tractor on my lawn if its been wet and and i never use it for normal lawn work. Spreader, sprayer, lawn roller, etc. i have no regrets.

My 85 hp M8540 sits on my 10 acres my buddies 95 hp Massey 5450 is used on his 14 he also has a smaller jd2040

I give 2 tractors a thumbs up as well. To bad the money thing gets in the way.

Starting a little big wont get you the buyers remorse that going to small does.
my tractor is definitely overkill for what i own and most people uses but there's been many times I'm at or near loader capacity. Most of the time slightly big is not a problem. To small is definitely aggravating. But the B series would likely do most everything you would want to do now.

TOO MUCH TRACTOR? :laughing::laughing::laughing::laughing::laughing::laughing:

Ok, composure is back. Go with the largest you think you might need in the next 10 years. You will want more tractor by then anyway. It is better than wanting more tractor in six months.

My first tractor (after a A/C WD45) was an L3650 (sold after 20 years). Then down to a BX. Then up to a M-series, and then back to a L (TLB). OK, maybe I'm not the best guy to respond to the question. :D
