As I noted in the "when the music died" thread, we had a small family connection with Toby. His wife is the step sister of a cousin. This cousin was involved in a very serious auto accident and needed help with the bills. When Toby heard of the benefit function for being held, he sent an autographed guitar to be auctioned to help raise money.

This was the same time he was undergoing chemo and radiation therapy for the stomach cancer. Showed me the character of the man that he cared about someone else while he was battleing his own devils.

Loved his music and may he rest in peace!
