Toilet Paper

I wonder how many of our members grew up in a time and location in which they actually did have an outhouse and use the Sears Roebuck (also known as Sears Rareback) and Montgomery Wards (also known as Monkey Wards) catalogues. I've been there and don't miss those days at all.

I sure did, and remember whenever caught at the barn, a clean corncob worked very well. tried to keep two red cobs and one white one. Use a red one, then use the white one to see if I need the other red one.:D

Years and years ago there used to be a bucket in the outhouse filled with corn cobs. Use your imagination on how they were used. This was after the catalogs had ran out.

Ok, im only 31, and we had an out house till I was 8. We had no power, running water, or nat gas at our house in WVa. We had a old well at the bottom of the mountain ~1000 ft away. The church we went to had inside sink, but outhouses, till about 1993.

Yes, ive wiped with the Sears catalog, but you have to sit there an crincle it for a while, those glossy pages didnt do well.

Soo; scoff at my suggestion of Moss. Try it, see if you still prefer TP. It surely beats the catalogue.

Visit us in the Philippines... there is a reason why there is a 5 gallon bucket of water beside the toilet. Toilet paper is a waste of money!

My daughter who is 16 and I have a saying. Two things we don't want to run out of is TP and the other is ketshup and the other is toilet paper.

Wise old Indian once told a pioneer to always keep his TP dry. Pioneer always thought he ment his tent till his toilet paper got wet.

It's not un-hygienic, really. It would be a challenge with sit-down toilets, but on the squat type it works fine.

The Japanese have a toilet that automatically wet washes and air dries.
