Tonneau Cover thoughts?

This is mine after unloading my snowsled... I like that it easily rolls out of the way. I believe the cover which the OP just ordered would be better when I do put my rack on the truck.

I have the Extang Trifecta signature series (tri-fold) on my truck, it came on it when I purchased it.
Still in really good shape, easy to use and you can take it off without any tools by unscrewing 2 clamps.

If you need to fold it up and use the rear 2/3rd's of the bed it has 2 straps w/ clips to secure and it's ready for freeway speeds.

Sounds exactly like the one I have with the GMC logo on the rear. You know someone has to make it for them.

I have a fold up hard cover tonneau cover on my 2016 Sierra. Love it. Installs with a couple clamps. Flip it up and strap it for small loads. And can remove the whole thing if needed in less then 2 minutes on the occasion where I've hauled furniture.

Stays on the truck the majority of the time. Mainly got it for when we travel with the grand kids. It's more comfortable to go in the truck. This way we can throw our luggage in the bed and keep things locked up and dry.

Initially I wanted a Diamondback hard cover. They look very nice. But they do require full top removal if you want to carry anything large. And after more consideration - - were they $2100 cool. I don't think so .........

It would be helpful if folks included the brand and model when talking about their covers - especially when you are talking about one you really like.

I need a cover mainly to keep out rain, snow and leaves from the bed of my Tacoma. (It would be helpful if it can stand up to the occasional heavy snow load.) Security is less of an issue for me - just getting things out of sight is usually good enough, I can lock the valuable stuff in the cab. Most of the time, I can live without use of the full bed, but I do want one that is quick and easy to remove for when I need the full bed. A few mentioned on here sound interesting (though I'm not about to spend $2000+ on a 2009 truck that does not get used all that much).

I have the Ford factory soft tri-fold on my F-150. I'm not sure how much difference there is in quality. I see some people complain about leaks but mine has been completely dry inside. It seems like 80% of the time I haul something it fits under the cover and if it doesn't, it comes off in about 2 minutes.

I don't personally have this cover (mine came with the truck) but my brother does & even though expensive I would buy one if a needed a cover... It checks all the boxes for my uses & his bed only get a little water from the tailgate every now & then...

And made in the USA....

I bought my soft cover on that popular auction site, Fleabay. Bought it so long ago, its no longer in my purchase history, but the Emails came from "streetune." Paid about $120. back in July of 2018, and it still looks exactly the same today. Now it is nowhere close to perfect, the pull cord to unlock it doesn't work, and the few bare aluminum parts are showing some pitting, One of the three internal structural supports is shorter than the other 2 so it falls out occasionally. (into bed). But there is no velcro, its a hard but flexible plastic strip on both sides that tucks up into a channel in the aluminum. So its super easy to open and close in a minute, with no issues of water or dirt gumming up the works. The bed of my truck stays dry and the tonneau material bounces back in the sun after a couple feet of heavy wet snow overnight. (NY winters are not kind). Top is still tight and no rips, leaks, or fading. Even with the issues, I'd buy another, or 3 at that price before I spent $2k. This cover rolls up, I tuck the support bars into the roll as they're exposed and then up by the back window, there are 2 quick clips on an adjustable nylon strap to hold it in place. Works like a charm, and keeps the support bars inside by friction. Leaves the entire bed available except for the space taken up by the clamps that hold the side rails to the bed rails.
