Too good to be true?

If it is on CL and it seems really cheap PLEASE just instantly delete it.
Real sellers put phone numbes THAT WORK in ads for this stuff, why?
BECAUSE THEY WANT IT SOLD! The scammers, NONE OF THEM put in
working phone numbers! And even if there is a working phone number,
NEVER EVER send money w/o first seeing it yourself and making SURE
what your buying is the sellers to sell ...

Please don't be offended, because I say this in general and not necessarily toward you.

Anyone who thinks an ad like that with a $10,000 tractor for sale for $2,000....... deserves to get ripped off.

Clearly a scam ad.

I've been trying to sell my pickup on there. I love the reply emails I get. "I am interested in buying your item" "I'm interested in buying your vehicle" They never post what it is, or a question specific to it. They leave the post so vague just trying to get your info it's ridiculous. I got a text the other day. Someone wanted to buy it. I texted back if he was going to pay cash or cashiers check. He said he didn't have access to that. Just for the fun of it I asked him how he was gonna pay. He said that wouldn't be a problem. I let it go, but about a half hour later he texted back he was going to pay with paypal. I already knew something funny was going on. I got home and researched the area code on google and it was from a place out east that has had a lot of scam traffic.

I'm currently trying to sell an old boat on CL. Each time I renew the add I get some texts from someone who wants me to give them paypal information for payment. When I tell them they will need to come see the boat with cash, They claim they are in New York and they will arrange for shipping. When asked if they have a shipping quote the response was "full price"...At which point I drop it.
Hassle for sure.

Saw this on CL and it looks too good to be true. I am not in the market for
another tractor, was just searching to see what was out there in my area
and came across this. Doesn't give a location so I wonder if its on the up and up
or one of many CL scams. I'm not labeling it as such, I don't know wnaything about
the person or the listing but I've seen a few obvious scams on there and this has
a couple things that get the hair up on the back of my neck.

I have not included a link to the ad as I don't know if that's allowed.
I'm not trying to help this person sell this item.

If it's legit then I figure it must have some mechanical problem.

I won't post the link, but I can assure you it is indeed a scam. The clue is when they post an email address other than what is resgistered with CL. They normally don't leave a way to contact other than the email posted. If you want to pull thier leg awhile go for it. I bet a dollar for a doughnut it's a scam.

It was easy to find. My suggestion is to flag it and move on. I flagged it. If enough flags appear the local administrator will remove it.

EDIT: It has already been flagged for removal.. There's your answer.

These show up regularly on our local Craigs List also. I've always wondered why they make the price so low it is clearly a spam (usually way less than half the legitimate price.) I recently saw an explanation of this. They make the ad clearly bogus so that they won't be bothered by "normal" people. They only want naive suckers looking for something for nothing, since they are the easiest to scam.

If its priced real low it is a scam. Email them if want to hear a funny story. I saw a BX25 on CL for $6000. I emailed about it. The woman got it in a divorce, she had the tilte to it but she did not have a drivers license so she could not use it was the story I got.

The best one I saw was a two year old skid steer (nice picture of someone's SS) with 100 hours for $5000. The ad said once the money was sent to them by Western Union the SS would be delivered by FedEx.

Usually if it is cheap on for sale by dealer it is a spam.

I hope they were going to package it with bubble wrap.

I think the bubble wrap would have put it over the 75 lb limit.
