Yeah, unless is specifies otherwise in the manual, I just set threaded dipsticks on the hole to check levels. Plus, the front axle has to be perfectly level, otherwise there will be more fluid on one side of the axle than the other. It might be the perfectly correct level, but it will show up wrong on the dipstick.

I think it says to screw in the dipstick to check the fluid but I'll try it that way to see what it looks like. I have a Gravely 50" walk behind mower that says to not screw in the dip stick to check the engine oil.
The tractor is on concrete in the shed so its level. I wonder just how much more fluid is in the axle when it shows up on the stick twice full?
