Too much freon???

Best to back wash it. If it's a typical fan sucking air through the radiator you would wash it from the fan side. If it's a blow through you would want to wash from outside. I just use water. Recently bought a pneumatic engine cleaning gun from HF that has a suction hose for soap I might try next time. If you use any kind of cleaner make sure it won't damage the metal in the radiator. Regular dish soap and water should be safe.

Good advice. I've lost count of condensers I've seen ruined by improper use of coil cleaner. There is no reason to use coil cleaner on car/truck/tractor coils.

Update....

Last week we used the tractor to load 336 tons of sand to spread on some athletic fields with no issues. One of my employee's was on the tractor for this job.

Yesterday I used the tractor myself to till a football field. It was about 94* with a heat index of 105*. The AC worked just fine and I was comfortable the whole time. And I never heard the belt slip.

So, my conclusion is that letting out a little bit of Freon did some good.

Auto AC units have a very small receiver containing mostly the desiccant (moisture absorber); consequently refrigerant backs up into the condenser (coil in front of radiator) which causes the problem by keeping heat from being removed. Common problem with DIY projects is either too much ot not enough refrigerant. Freon is a brand name for DuPont refrigerants.

Just to update again, I've put another 20 hours or so on it in the past week, in the sweltering heat and humidity typical of South Louisiana, and no problems with the AC. and I have not heard the belt 'chirp' at all.
