Well, we keep getting rain and water is standing in the field. It was on the news that this Sept was the 2nd wettest on record and last year it was the all time wettest. I sure hope this is not going to become the new normal. The local tobacco farmers are saying that their harvest is rotting while it hangs in the sheds. At least it cooled off some but more rain is in the forecast. Grrr.

Just had mine pumped earlier today. Pumpers canreach out a a long ways if needed, my neighbors tank is about 100 feet or more from his driveway and they have no problems with it. With mine, it's not very far about 35', they do park the truck up the hill a bit and probably lift it about 15', don't know what the upper limit is, probably 30 ' or less.
Around here they haul into various municipal treatment plants to dump. We used to have a company that had their own treatment lagoon that they would then apply to their own fields. Sprayed it over their property line and the neighbors filed a complaint. State or county (I don't remember which), shut them down almost the next day. I think that they were looking for a excuse to shut them down. There was a level of worry since they hauled out of Tacoma and served business as well as homes, some talk of heavy metal contamination.
Cost here is about $500 plus $150 to the county for the operating permit (3 years). Not cheap at all.

Well, only 2 days into October and the weather guy said we have exceeded the normal amount for the WHOLE month! The southern half of the state has flood warnings now.....crazy weather. The pumper is now saying we could wait until the ground freezes up. I just wish all this rain was in Dec as snow!

Weird flip we did. A full twelve months of excessive rain, some months were double normal or more. Yard squished when you walked anywhere. Stick a shovel in the ground and you got a puddle in no time. Tap got shut off in late August. Nary a drop since. Driest September in something like 50 years. Ground is so hard now, I may not be able to dig much.

If the 'law' says 'inspect/pump', maybe all you need is an inspection. It it has to be 'pumped', maybe all you need is a single pail full pulled out and used for lawn fertilizer.

"A royal flush beats a full house" is on 1 of our local septic service trucks.

BTW: We had a "riser" added to our tank so that the cover is at lawn/ground level instead of having to dig deep to get at the tank cover. The riser lid is strong enough to take the weight of my CUT.

The county will just have to accept the late paperwork. I have installed risers so the covers are at ground level. It is a great place to have my 2 bird baths.
