panman,

Weight is weight, so that would work as long as the carryall can withstand it.

spent a few hours mowing yesterday, all I can say is wow!

I am bit confused as to the small wheels on the mower deck and thier ultimate correct posistion. The dealer said to have them just brush the grass, the book clearly shows them slightly below the bottom of the mower deck. What is the correct way?
Also once level, does the deck ever have to be adjusted. Mine is cutting pretty level right now.
Built my carry all this weekend, and resurected my old scraper blade from the field
I was also amazed at the ease of taking the FEL ON /OFF
Life is good!! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Panman,

They really do cut well don't they! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gifAs for the gauge wheels, my take is to have them as low as you can up to the point the begin to dig in on uneven slopes and soft soil. Right now I believe I can see 5 holes above the mower tube.

My 54" deck has a little chart on it that tells you which hole to set the wheels at a specific cutting height which if you want to be accurate you can measure the cutting edge to a garage floor or someplace flat.

Well don't feel dumb because we all feel helpless at times when the answer is right in front of us. For me that is mostly everyday /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
Speaking of dumb I have a utility pole with a guy wire where the ground slopes. When I cut on the high side the ROPS tilts toward the wire. The other day cutting the grass I got real close to the wire going slow, I noticed that the ROPS light going to come in contact with the wire so I push the wire with my hand to clear the light as it only needed a 1/2". Since the tractor is inching forward due to the slope I go to push the reverse pedal to slow/stop the movement and I hit the forward instead. The tractor moves forward and the Rops quishes my arm against the wire before my brain tells my hand to let go. Well I have a large bruise to testify to my stupidity. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Just an update, now with 30 hours in the seat and have not found anything this thing cannot do. I have moved banks utilizing the 4WD that use to be done by hand. I figure I have gained 1-2 hours of leisure time a week.
The FEL works great, still a bit of a pain to get on (not off) but getting better

panman,

That's bout the same experience the rest of us have had. As for the loader; keep practicing; soon you'll find you spend more time cleaning the couplers than attaching/detaching it. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
