Steve from Carver brought out the unit to my lot on Friday and I had a ball with it all weekend. Jumped right into cutting some pretty subtantial grass and then played around in the dirt where some guys with really heavy equipment are doing some excavation for me. Got to move around some piles of dirt. Now I have to think up some projects to get myself involved in. I am sure it won't be hard. I feel really good about the tractor and the dealer. Good stuff!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I'm sure you will find many things to "work" on with your new unit in short order. Just remember not to let the wife know your having fun /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Just me and the dog and he loves chasing it around in circles. I put him away when mowing-don't want pate' of dog. Besides he's too good a friend to enjoy on a cracker. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif I am having fun on the BX and see that it will take some time learning how to do things smoothly. It is so powerful that it is easy to get in a rush and that is probably where the problems lie.

Our Golden Retriever doesn't hardly move when the gas lawn mower gets close to her, but fire up the BX and she goes NUTS. Runs and hides. I don't know if it has a frequency that hurts her ears or if she is afraid of ORANGE, but she won't go near it and won't even walk in the garage if it is inside (even if not running).

Strange, very strange......

Ron - My Newfie is the opposite........He can't stand the gas lawn tractor. Wants to be inside the house away from the "monster"...but my BX22 doesn't even phase him. Chuck

i was just looking at a BX 2230 last wk-end..with a 60 inch belly mower...priced at @ $10,500..adding a fel would add another $2k...i haven't decided if i want to make that big a plunge yet or not...i hate mowing, and like it done as fast as possible..but like the other things that can be done with that size tractor..plus not sure if i would want the belly mower or a 3pt finish mower...to many decisions, to little money..
enjoy your new tractor..

Well, the price seems in line with my experience. I had a ball with mine this weekend. On my Deere lawn tractor (48") the grass cutting for a similar size lot was around 4-5 hours. The hour meter on my 'Bota was 2.8 when I finihsed. Figure some training tiime and time spent on the meter during set up and it looks like my time is cut at least in half. Remember, I was cutting a former bean filed (rough) with grass 8-12 inches high and that will tell you about the capabilities of this mower. I have the mm and think it is probably a little easier to use in tight places (like around bushes and poles, etc). Good luck on your decision /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
