How about...

1) Will do the jobs that I have now and in the forseeable future.
2) Good resale value in case I guessed wrong.
3) Payments don't vary very much between most models.
4) Paint it Crimson Tide colors and it will be novel. Put decals on it too.
5) It is always nice to have a good dealer so you will have someone to talk to once in a while when you buy filters, oil and maintenance stuff, but everytime I visit their shop they are just doing make readies. Don't these things every break down?

Paul, Ireally think that you can't make a bad decision buying either green, blue or orange. They're all well made. Go with the most helpful reputable dealer and the fair price. I went through what you're doing last fall and bought a JD4100 this spring, only because JD had a great price on a factory promotion and the closest Kubota or New Holland dealer wouldn't deal. I'm happy with my purchase, but I'm certain that I would also be happy with a TC-21, B7500 or B2400. Despite the friendly chiding about brand loyalty that you see on this board, there's really not a great difference among the top companies or models. Just stay away from no-names due to the lack of service and parts.

Yeah, jyouts, thats pretty much my situation...her its the Jd's thar are quite proud of there product...Them orange fellas are all around the same price range...But I found that with two defferent dealers that both sell orange and blue...One has higher priceing on the blue, the other one on orange(this one is closest and has been the most helfull so far..)Still like I said early'er I'll look around once more right before I buy just to make my self feel better...I'll probable go with the closer dealer he's been great about showing me this and that and answering ?'s...I'll also probable give Mr.Carver the opportinity to sell me one..I figure it can't hurt and he may just supprise me...

Ok take Wen's five and my five and you will have the perfect base to go shopping with. Orange will hold it's value over time quite well. I know this for a fact the dealer is giving me a very fair price for trade on my L-3750. It's just alittle less than I paid for it 10 years ago--how is that for resale value? Oh yea that is with no number juggling just down right trade value!!!
That is with quite abit of hours on the meter as well compared to alot of trade ins with little or no hours on the tractor. He said if the tractor had a few thousand less hours on it he could give alot more on trade---go figure.
My dealer is the same alot of bobcats and club cadets in the shop but no Kubotas--that in itself says something right there!!! I guess that is what makes me so mad when my tractor does breakdown. We will see how well my new L-4310 holds up over time can't wait to get it next week!!!

Gordon, when I was shopping last year I discovered that all of the major brands hold their value well. In fact I bought a new tractor for just $1000 more than the best deal I could find on a ten year old used unit. The only compacts that don't seem to hold value are the Chinese or other off-brands.

Can't argue that one used tractors are sometimes not the best way to go after you figure how close the price actually is to a new one. You also will get a much better interest rate on a new tractor as compared to used.

I wondered about your color preference when you started posting a while back.

Sometimes it is hard to separate devotion to a team's colors and devotion to a tractor's colors. What has to be worse is when you are leaning toward a tractor that has the color of one of your team's rivals.

I'll have to say that Kubota's color is a natural fit in Volunteer country (where they just changed the area code to 865; otherwise known as VOL).

[For the benefit of those not familiar with the South, college football is probably the most popular sport around, even more popular than NFL football. PBurns, I'll have to add that most 'Bama fans that I've met are pretty decent fans. Can't say that about all SEC teams...].
