Tool Box for CT 235 - 40MM ammo Can?

My new can arrived yesterday. Unfortunately the trial fit did not go so well. In figuring measurements I did not account for the room needed to open the latch handles. Solution is to mount the box a bit higher where the ROPS widens out.

Well plan B
I got some 1.5 inch aluminum angle iron and fabricated up mounting brackets for the can. I set them high enough so I could still use the original small tool box for little things like key storage and such. Got them rough fit today on each side of the ROPS. I drilled and tapped 5/16 holes into the ROPS and will be using grade 8 hardware (what I had on hand). I will be painting the cross pieces white (also what I had on hand). I decided to split and bend the top of the angle to get a better connection on the ROPS. I also left room to get at the light switch.

After the rough fit I decided to get another tool box - a little longer and not quite as tall. Don't tell the BOSS unit. Wall-mart carried the perfect size for my needs. Having it shipped free to my local store or the Zoo as I call it. I have a similar toolbox to the one you linked. Don't count on it being "pretty good as is" as far as being water tight. When mine got left out in a light rain, everything inside was wet. A gasket around the lid MAY take care of it, but I'd also suggest caulking or otherwise sealing the various seams if you want it to stay dry inside.

Thanks for the tip. I was thinking about that when I ordered it, especially the handle attachment point. There were other to choose from including several at Home Depot. Except those hip roof ones did not have the closed side on the lid like the one from Wal-Mart. I have already put the 40MM can to work storing all the loose boxes of ammo I have in the gun safe. Fits perfectly in the bottom.

Well completed the install and sealed the unit up using urethane rubber. There were gaps at the corners and along the piano hinge. I also drilled two drain holes in the bottom, just in case. It the perfect size. I set it so I can open it without having to tilt the seat forward. To do so I had to remove the slow vehicle warning sign, but I have flashers and do not get out on the road. Ill look into another mounting point if folks think I need it.
