I have a stainless stack branded by Kobalt. I got it at Lowes when they closed out the old model year. Holds what I have right now, but I buy tools like beer so I will be in the market for another stack in a year or two.

I also got mine from Lowes. :thumbsup:

It has a power strip on the right side.

Lots of great metal cabinets out there. Choose wisely. Some members have made their own, if the time permits and is cost effective. My German father-in-law built all his tool boxes and shop cabinets, but he had the time and great wood cabinetry skills.

Sometimes great deals on metal cabinets are too hard to turn down for price, time and utility.

Another vote for the red harbor freight cabinets. Best quality for the price IMHO.

I'm struggling with trying to find a good value on a stand up rolling type tool box. I'm an average do it your self-er and don't need anything real expensive. There are so many brands and types and varying prices that I'm flooded with choices. Do you guys have any suggestions on a box that has worked out good for yourself. My tools are in small boxes spread all over the darn garage and I want to get everything organized and in one place. Thank you in advance...

Without question, the Harbor Freight units are the value leader... and they are higher quality than most boxes you'll find locally, especially all of Sears offerings.

This applies to their red boxes. There is one black unit that's junk, but you'll know as it's like $150.

I bought this beast at Menard's a couple of years ago and am very happy with it. Very well built.

The Masterforce cabinets are a great value as well. Plus they come in colors other than red

Menards also sells some smaller Performax cabinets, lower quality than HF/Masterforce, but still decent ball bearing slides and good fit/finish.

I ended up with the 21 drawer Atlas branded box from Greg Smith Equipment:

I've been pretty happy with it, but my expectations aren't that high. It's just a box full of drawers for my tools, after-all!

I thought it was huge when I bought it. Now, I'm thinking about going back for the bigger one...

I am a big fan of the harbor freight us general boxes as well. Definitely the value leader. They are often on sale with a coupon, scan the car or handyman magazines if you need one.
