I purchased a M7040 cab earlier this year, and it came with a cheesy little plastic toolbox between the front left tire and the steps. I set the tires about 4" wider, and now the tires hit the toolbox.

Any suggestions for an alternative mounting location for the factory toolbox or a larger aftermarket toolbox?

I just run without a toolbox now, usually have my pickup close. I bought pens for every piece of equipment and just leave them with it when im done using, small piece of baling wirer attached to pen so they dont get lost... You probaly need somewhere to keep shear pins and wrench maybe weld/bolt small metal toolbox on batwing...

I have a m6040 and added a metal tool box where the SMV sign is on the left rear of cab and then moved the sign to the right.

I guess I'm different. I had a M4900 with "no toolbox" so when I purchased my M7040 that had a toolbox I was happy.happy. I'm curious how does moving tires out 4" get tire closer to toolbox?? Does your tractor have a frt end loader? Mine does and toolbox is bolted to it. I don't think it would do that on my M7040 but I'll look this AM.

Thanks for the feedback/ ideas. I guess I spoiled myself having a 24" x8" x10" toolbox on my gl3940. I kept scrubs handwipes, tools pins rags etc.

I keep a soft toolbag in the cab of the 7040, but long for a decent toolbox.

Tx Jim,
The interference occurs on a hard left turn, the outside lugs on the tire dented the corner of the plastic toolbox. I dont have the fronts set at max width either. I ended up having to remove my toolbox and bracket.

My TB is mounted at the same place. I haven't had the tractor very long but I'll check it out when the weather warms back up.

My left frt tractor get's nowhere close to touching the toolbox in a left hand turn. What size frt tires does your tractor have? Mine has 9.5X24's.

This is what I did. Since I hardly ever used the right side steps I removed them and used the mounting point to attach my tool box bracket. It is as high as I could get it and still open the cab door. NOT a huge box but plenty big to keep a 4 pound shop hammer, 15" crescent wrench, pins etc
