Toolbox on 2305

[2305JD]

Has anyone figured out a toolbox solution for the 2305.

I checked out local hardware stores today and all I found were big metal boxes (all red too...) that would not look good on the 2305.

30 cal. ammo box, painted JD green, bolted on where the toplink clip is bolted on behind the seat. Water resistant, and dirt resistant.

Here is what I did on my former 2210 and it worked very nice. The tool box is 12" x 6" x 5" deep and I used the two bolts that held the top link up. In this set up, you have to remove the top link when not in use, but other than that, the set up worked very nice and allowed quick/easy access to pins, etc., when working at the rear.

Do you think if you used nylon or rubber washers/grommets you could have put the box over the mount for the centerlink Clip.

I've got to work on making one of those. I've looked at the 'seat bag' type covers but they don't hold as much as a toolbox and aren't as nice looking.

Actually, I used a 3/4" thick strip of rubber (almost the size of the underside of the box) and sandwitched that between the box and two bolts (just drilled through the bottom of the box and ran the bolts through the inside down), so this allows the box to flex a bit if needed. The little box worked great and I'm going to replicate that again on my new 2210.

Here's a pic of my toolbelt that I keep on the top of the FEL tower. It has channel locks, tin snip scissors that also serve as pruners for vines/small branches in the way, multi-screwdriver, knife. I have an old floppy carrying case that I've attached to the top part of the grill behind the FEL that I keep a big hammer and ice pick in.

Used to carry a tool box in my Gravely cart all over the place and found I didn't need all that stuff. Mainly what I need fits in the tool belt and that floppy case.

Very nice install indead. I like the use of suitcase weights on the BB too. I'll have to try that
