Toolbox

I was in need of a better way to carry tools on my tractor. i was in a sutherland hardware store and saw these little toolbox's called gadget box's.
i bought one and removed the handle and filled the holes with pop rivets. i then drilled three holes through the box and the right fender of my tractor. on a L3000dt kubota it fit perfect.

i painted it kubota orange and it now looks factory.

Works great and is small enough not to hamper anything.

I like the classic look of that box; a little more stylish than a big square one. Did you use anything between the box and fender, like a flat washer or a piece of gasket material? I thought about doing that but I wondered if it would make the box shake worse and gouge the fender over time.

I have one of those that I carry around in the bed of my truck. I bet it looks nice mounted to you tractor (another hint hint) /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif . One word of caution: on mine the latch got loose and will pop open at the most inopportune moment, even while riding in the truck. I can bend the lip or the hasp and it holds for a while. You may not have that problem since you don't tote yours.

You know i am going to have to get a digital camera.

I painted on some plasti dip on the bottom of the box . but if you tighten it up good it won't move.

I havent had any trouble with the latch yet but if i do i think i will add a new latch. a drill bit and some pop rivets and you can do anything. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

it has enough room to put tools and a bottle of water. and it's easy access. i always liked the tool box on my grandfathers ford 3600 and hated that mine had none. now i have a palce to put stuff.
