I might just take the mirrors off to be safe for a while. We stacked branches so the grapple can grab them easily, ~20 piles. We just need the burn pile to dry out now.

The guy we buy hay from still owed us two bales. He dropped one off this week, weighed it today:

Going to try the bale spear that Omni MFG made for their Transformer 3 point receiver hitch:

But I want it on the front, so got the SSQA to 3 point adapter:

Put the Transformer hitch on it:

Put the bale spear in the vertical receiver:

Speared the bale:

And took it to the bale storage area, but didn't take a picture. :ashamed:

Subtitle: Modification to the Omni Bale Spear.

This is the 48 inch spear in the vertical receiver on the 3 point hitch that I used in a previous post:

P8310014.JPG

The stabilizers are short and difficult to penetrate the bale, so I removed them. I had an extra 34 inch sharp pointed spear from the Speco UltraFork.

I cut a piece of 2x2 thick wall square tubing, filed 4 flats on the round spear and used the press to slide it in place:

Pinned it in place in the horizontal receiver hitch:

Works good, like a modified bale spear should:

Of course it works in the 3 point, so I can carry 2 bales at the same time. :D

As mentioned in the previous post, "it works in the 3 point". Here is proof:

Hung the crane scale on the stump bucket, zeroed the scale with the chain on it and weighed the bale:

Then took it to the bale storage area:

There are now 9 bales in the new row:

Posting pictures of the dollies for the modified Omni MFG. bale spear that fits on the Omni Transformer 3 point hitch:

The spears set on a mini furniture dolly with the casters stolen for a bigger dolly, two 2 by scraps and an old office chair base :

The question of how much pressure is on the bucket teeth came up on another thread.

So I decided to find out:

2,383 pounds, not as much as I expected since the bucket weighs a little over 800 pounds and the Toolcat weight according to Bobcat is 5835 pounds.
