toolcat bucket locked

I have not posted here for a while well i had no problems, now i do! Cat has the bucket locked and cant get it unlocked, any ideas??
You need to be a little more specific with your description. You lost lift and tilt?? Or you can't get the power Bobtach levers to unlock and remove the bucket from the boom????? :confused3:

I have lost operation of the loader/bucket because the lock button/light is on and will not go off on the dash. This lock can be activated by pushing on or deactivated by pushing off, under normal operations, i cant get it to go off so loader/bucket will not move.

I checked to see what series I have and it is a 5205 A Series! I dug a little deeper into it yesterday still don't see the problem but did notice that the joy stick does have hydraulics to it and is not electric there, so there must be a solenoid that becomes active after safety arm goes down, so does anyone know were this solenoid is located?

Just looking at manual for G series and what "locks" the hydraulic control valve for the joy stick. There is a spool valve for the bucket tilt and one for the lift. When you move the joystick, it pushes or pulls the rods in or out of the spool valves. At the top and side of these valves, there is a small black box with 2 wires for each valve, those are the solenoids that control locking stems for each valve. Basically, the valve rods have a groove in them that a solenoid pushes a pin into to stop the valve rods from moving. So, it seems it takes 2 solenoids to lock both directions (one for each spool valve). I would think that if one solenoid goes bad, you could still move the stick in the other direction. To see this valve, you must take the cover off surrounding the joystick. I'm thinking that if all of a sudden your stick doesn't unlock in either direction, look for what controls those solenoids first. Fuses? Relay? Switch? I hope this helps....:)

Does your joystick move with the key off?

On mine with the arm up, the joystick is locked, won't move at all. When you put the arm down, it unlocks.

Here is a snip from the parts list that I referenced in post #5:

You need to trace the voltage to find the problem.
