I would consider my DeWALT DW 705, Compound Miter Saw to be an excellent tool. In 30 years, it hasn't failed in any way. And I've asked it to do things it wasn't designed for, such as make fire wood.

Good post except I can't stand the thought of a 705 being used to cut firewood although some of my best burning wood was cutoffs left over from an oak flooring install.

I had a similar good experience with a FIMCO 25 gallon ATV sprayer. US based support. Also Flailmaster (blades) was terrific to work with.

Those two are two made by streamlight. They have a rechargeable lithium ion battery. Come with two batteries, and the charger can be mounted to the wall or in a vehicle. 1100 lumens. They are the same ones that emergency responders carry. Those two have been ballistics tested by the grandson pretty regularly

Bought the first one after my shepherd escorted me around a copper head laying on the edge of the road. I didn't see it with my little flashlight I was using.

Left that one at home for my mom when she was house and dog sitting for us while we went on vacation.

Jeep broke down, and we were stuck walking everywhere. Little flashlight in the jeep was the flashlight I was using during the copperhead incident. Had a mule deer scare the ever living crap out of us. We were walking past it and didn't notice it till something started thrashing in the brush right next to us

That's when we decided we needed a second one to carry with us on road trips.

If you don't want or need 4+' baylights in your shop or garage these led lights are impressive at least that's I think and folks who have seen them say. Bought a half dozen for my dad's 30deep x24wide garage he was unhappy cause my mom caught wind of all the newly illuminated junk in previously dark forgotten depths where he's been hoarding lol.

I put one of those above my work bench. I was impressed

Got one of these a couple of years ago, 1100 lumens but it can be dimmed. Use it all the time, love it.

I bought one yesterday. It's small enough to fit in my pliers pocket on my jeans. Even has a clip to reduce chance of losing it. Will fit in my small tool drawer. I had to hold the packaged light in my hands, caress it and read all the data on the packaging before I could swallow the price. But I have high hopes for it.

Apparently, it depends on your idea of "family". A few years ago I bought a Dremel tool, something was missing from the box (forget what). Contacted them, they charged me for whatever it was.
Wasn't a lot of money, but still charging for something that should have been included...
