I have a 73" HD Bucket with Replaceable Cutting Edge. I was about to pull the trigger on a JD toothbar today until I noticed the note that says it cannot be used with a replaceable cutting edge.

Does anyone out there have a toothbar on their HD Bucket with Replaceable Cutting Edge? If so, what is the make and model? Does JD make one?

When I purchased my ATI bucket I was concidering this combo. They said their heavy duty toothbar would work but would be overkill.

I was hoping that someone out there already had a toothbar made for a John Deere 73" HD bucket with bolt-on cutting edge. I checked the ATI catalog and I may have found one (see attached). It says the BW14765 is for a 73" HD bucket with holes. Do you think this means it is made for a bolt-on cutting edge? I will need to contact an ATI dealer to confirm it.

I also found one by FFC Attachments. They can customize one if given the dimensions. I wonder if they have already made one for my bucket? I will need to give them a call. They have a picture of a toothbar on a bucket with bolt-on cutting edge.

They also have a toothbar fitting information sheet.

I can't believe that someone out there doesn't have a toothbar on a JD HD bucket with bolt-on edge.

It seems to be a one-or-the-other type affair to me.
I have seen both (have neither).
The replaceable cutting edge would receive little to no wear if using the toothbar, so the need to use both simultaneously would seem unlikely.
They both situate themselves under the leading edge of the bucket, so it would also seem unlikely that both could be used simultaneously.
You could own both and use one or the other based on the circumstances, however...
Unless I am totally misreading your posts?

FWIW, I have some SERIOUSLY rock filled dirt around here and have done some digging likely beyond the design of the loader/tractor and see virtually no wear of my HD bucket. Unless you are skidding 20 MPH across concrete, the replaceable cutting edge might be a bit overkill?

I want a toothbar but I don't want to have to remove my cutting edge to install one. That means I would need to re-install the cutting edge every time I temporarily drop the toothbar. Ultimately, I may have to do this but I'm trying to avoid it. I would rather find a toothbar that can install on my bucket "as is".

I noticed that Woods also makes a TB series toothbar that is compatible with a bolt-on cutting edge. The toothbar has longer teeth so that the main plate will fall behind the cutting edge bolts. The teeth also have to be spaced in such a way as to clear the cutting edge bolts. It also has to be designed to handle the added thickness of the cutting edge.

danbuf,

Thanks for the lead. I checked Star Industries website last night but I didn't notice this one. I will have to check with them on Monday.

I checked on the Woods TB4073. It lists for $515 plus S&H. I'm not sure I want to spend this much on a toothbar. I was hoping for something in the $300 range.
