toothbar???? Will it work (Bobcat)

Has anybody used a toothbar off a Bobcat bucket on their loader bucket??? Was wondering if their was any difference, a friend clued me in on a rental business that rents Bobcats and they change the bars out frequently, and they are in pretty good shape and would serve my purpose in the field and yard , he priced me a 60", 7 teeth ,heavy duty toothbar,for 150.00 out the door, At work I can cut it, weld it, and powder-coat it to look like new,( the rental place sell them new for over 500.00), I'll just have to cut it and take out about a inch and reweld, just wondering if the shanks or anything were different, I looked at them but have never had one before adn not sure, I remember they have a adjuster type Bolt on each side where they mount to the bucket, thanks for any info,

No real difference, just make it fit. Mine stopped my bucket from bending, for that cost you are not loosing..

Then again, for 150 bucks you can buy the teeth and strap metal and make a new one from scratch.

Depends if you want totally new, or the convenience of it only needing some customization to make it fit.

If new is his choice, Markham Welding will fab a beauty of a toothbar to order for under 300 bucks. Took me all of 10 minutes to install mine last night...'course I haven't had the end reinforcements welded yet...

One question....Where? All the Teeth I've priced out have been way more then that once you figure the Shanks, Teeth, Pins, etc...

I bought a WR Long tooth bar new for my L-2800 Kubota and what a difference it makes when using my loader. I got the flat bar model that seems to work good when back grading. Do not remember what I paid but my local dealer ordered it for me WR Long shipped it direct to me. Price was right and well worth what I paid.

I picked them up today, the rental place here is East Tennessee rental, any Bobcat rental should have them, they are heavy duty, Fabco shanks and # 23 teeth, already fixed one and in the process of finishing the other , really all I'm having to do is cut the mounting tabs off and relocating them over a 1/2 inch on each side, pretty easy, striped in the strip tank and powder-coated, ended up getting 2 for 275.00 out the door, I'm pleased and got the fun and excitment of the Fab work, ,

I bought a used toothbar from bocat several years ago. I was about 1" too long and cut a piece out of the middle and rewelded it. It was much heavier built than the tooth bars I have seen from Markam and other cheaper tooth bars. Mine had almost no wear when I bought it. Paid $150 but that was several years ago.
I do perfer teeth that bolt directly to the bucket edge rather than a bolt on toothbar.

Thats my eventual plan....weld teeth to another bucket so I have one bucket with teeth, and one without...
