Toothbar...

I ready to get a toothbar. I have searched the forum and read most of the threads. I still have a few questions. Where is the best place to get the toothbar? I need a strong and tough one. I would like it to slip over the cutting edge so I can "rake" with it going backwards. Also replacable teeth would be nice to have. The bucket is 72", it does not have a bolt on cutting edge. The loader will lift 2K lbs but curls a lot more. The toothbat will be also used to move many, many field stones from softball size to as big as the loader can lift. I was figuring around $350 to $400 with shipping. Is that reasonable.

Derek, last week I ordered a standard one from Carver for my 60" bucket for $305 including shipping. It has not arrived yet, but many others have purchased from them and are very happy. Here are the details.

I ordered the WR Long toothbar from Carver last week on Monday and got it on Friday but NW GA isn't far from NC. I paid $297 delivered for the bar to fit my LA682 66" bucket and based on my limited experience with it, it was a good investment. This was cheaper than the only price I could find locally and it appears to be very durable as I have put it through the paces fairly well and all that happened was I wore the paint off of it.

Did you get the TB or STB model? I would think I should go with the STB model. What do you think? Is the WR long toothbar the same as the one you showed?

ROWSKI: i got my tooth bar from CARVER. beat the price of anybody locally and had it in less than a week, dealer wanted 2 -3 weeks to get one. if in doubt get the heavier one if u think u will need it, after checking the diff in price.

I got the TB model. Yes, these toothbars are made by Long. I suggest sending an email to Terry_Giles@carverequipment.com and tell him how you want to use it. Terry is the parts manager at Carver.

Derek you can get a bullet proof toothbar for about $300.. Check as others have said at Carvers, those long bars look nice. But you might also want to check local as well.

I've got a Bobcat toothbar on mine they call it a bucket bite. <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.bobcat.com/products/att/buckets/bucketbite.html>BUCKET BITE</A> It has 8 teeth on it (my bucket is 66" long) and it also has adjustment in the bolt holes for when your bucket edge wears down. Alot of bars don't have this feature. Also alot of bars only have 7 teeth in the same length.

In the seventy two inch length the bucket bite has 9 teeth. Just something to think about anyway. The toothbar on my last Kubota was the same style and lasted very well. I never hurt it, had to replace the teeth but other than that no problems.

The only down side on this new toothbar was I had to shorten it in the center so it would fit my bucket. It was just a touch too wide to fit the bucket. Cut it and welded it up and she is better than new. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif
