Well, after doing lots o' research, I have decided I am keeping my
JD 4100 for awhile and am going to invest in the 410 loader and a
JD ballast box and get some jobs done (other than mowing and
pulling my trailer /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif).
Do any 4100 owners have bolt-on toothbars on their 410 loaders ?
If so, how much did you pay and did you get it directly through your JD
dealer or through one of the online outfits ?
Lastly, I have heard toothbars interfere with snow removal, so I am
wondering if I could get some input on this as well.
Thanks to all, G

Yep,......they do impede a bit the pushing and shoveling of snow. I'd recommend getting a bolt on toothbar. Two bolts on the side of the bucket attach the bar to the bucket (similar to the one shown in the attachment). One can quickly take this bar off during winter snow season when the bar isn't needed all that much. I think you'll find working without the bar in snow is somewhat more efficient.

I have a 4200 with a 420 loader and 61" bucket. A removeable toothbar with one bolt in either side cost me just under $300 delivered to my door in Indiana from FFC Attachments in Illinois. I ordered mine online from Mark Brucker at KC Canary Equipment. You can reach Mark at 800-920-7097. I'm very happy with mine and I do remove it for snow work in the winter.

Good luck with whatever you decide. I hope this helps.

I have the same tractor and have a Woods bolt on toothbar. Got it from my JD dealer. About $275 plus sales tax.

Here's a picture!

I also have a WOODS toothbar on my 410 loader, paid around $300 for it.
