Basically I was not sure of the exact sizes I needed so I bought a 4'x8' sheet of 3/16th and had the steel shop cut all the pieces on the 4 ft side. IE 3 pieces at 12" x 4' of which I used two. 2 pieces at 6" x 4' of which I ended up using one, 2 pieces at 3"x 4ft which I used most of. I also have left one Piece of 10" x 4ft and 14" x 4ft as I was not sure until I mocked it up what sizes I would need. One piece of 3/8 thick x 4.5"x4ft, and 4 ft of 1"x1" solid bar. I have had good luck with using mild steel teeth on my backhoe (1.25 square) so will try it again here. Not like I use it more then a couple dozen hours a year. The remainer of the 4'x8' sheet was sheared into 1.5 inch wide pieces for some track plates for another project.

Tooth material depends a lot on the soil type found on your property. I can dig almost anywhere on my 195 acres and can only wish to find something other then a layer of topsoil, then fine sand (drys like beach sand) and clay. Nice thing about mild steel teeth are, that if they don't break, they will never wear out because I can just build them back up with weld.

Bucket finished and tested. Drove to several spots before I found one were the ground was not frozen.
