I was interested in the Kaufman trailer problem because I considered a Kaufman when I bought the PJ (in Virginia). Kaufman (NC) is within driving distance of where I was, and I could have saved some money. Then I checked the Better Business Bureau ratings. This doesn't tell you everything by any means. But, PJ is rated "A+" and Kaufman is rated "F". So I went with PJ. I was also interested in the Cam Superline trailer, which has great specs and a real good reputation, but couldn't find one anywhere reasonably close.

I didn't even think to check this out before. They were close and so big figured they were ok. Thanks for the info and will check out PJ.

I bought a 6x10 hydraulic dump trailer about 18 months ago. After a lot of looking, I settled on TexasPride - just south of Dallas. Even with the 700 mile round-trip, I felt I got the most for my money. It's worked flawlessly and I've been happy with the choice.

I like Towmaster trailers. I wouldn't own a PJ trailer if you gave it to me. In my experience they don't hold up to daily use. The Towmaster's hold up quite well to daily heavy-duty use.

We bought a used Ridgeline trailer, got it pretty cheap and it is built very heavy, no problems. And, I had some questions about the trailer. E-mailed the manufacturer, they answered my questions first thing in the morning the next day. Not too bad for customer service considering the trailer is almost 20 years old.

I bought a 20' equipment trailer made by a local manufacturer and have been well satisfied with the build, but I wish I would have gotten a 20' deckover over flatbed, the raised fenders on the equipment hauler are forever in the way, Good luck.

I definitely have to agree with you!
In no particular order,,,,,,, PJ, Big Tex, Gatormade, Diamond C, Sure Trac.

I own a Gator gooseneck.

Moritz, Corn Pro, Big Tex, Sur-Trac

Not a fan of Gator. Just my opinion.

I don't think Texas Pride would make the top 4 or 5. I've got one that I had to spend a lot of money on to get it to the point it would carry it's rated capacity. Texas Pride wasn't interested in standing behind their product either.
I've got a PJ 20k gooseneck, it's ok but nothing to write home about.
I've got a Big Tex car hauler (Actually I haven't seen it in quite a while, my son borrowed it.), it's just ok too.
I've got an old "home made" 16' 12k gooseneck that is by far the best built trailer I own. Unfortunately, I've pretty much out grown it.
I'm pretty sure that I'll build my next trailer myself, or have it built by a local trailer shop.

I also looked at some of the BIG NAME trailers at our local dealer. When talking to the local guy... who sells both big and small name trailers. He said that he would rather deal with a company that only builds 2000 trailers a year over one that builds 20,000 a year just for that reason. They stand behind their product! As a smaller company they have a lot more on the line. The big guys are just pushing them out the door. One of my buddy's just bought a trailerman trailer 14k tilt top that is nice and stout.
