Congrats, sounds like an impressive machine. What is the 3 pt hitch storage?

It is a rack, sort of like a gun rack, that mounts on the left side of the main frame in front of the real axle. I have only seen the photos of it, but it looks like it would work out great because as you know the 3PH linkage has to come off to remount the backhoe on Kubota's TLB's. It was a $205 dollar option, check with your dealer it might mount on other tractors as well. Does the 3PH have to come off for you to mount your backhoe on your L5240?

Yes the 3 ot has to come off, not a big deal, takes about 10 minutes.

Well, I gave in today and ordered the Quick Attach system for the backhoe on my about to be produced L47. It is more money, but not ordering the QA system had been my only compromise on my "perfect tractor," now it will have everything I wanted.

Now I am researching single rippers for the backhoe, I need a method of breaking hardpan before I replant my grove.

Is there an option for a factory cab and if so,are you getting one?The backhoe quick attach is a good option.I didn't get one on my L45 and ended up making one, which is a lot of work.I made another bucket as well and I am in the middle of making a 30 inch ditching bucket now.

Kcender, on the Kubota Build Your Kubota site, there isn't an option for a closed cab that I saw, your dealer should be able to tell you if one if offered.

I want to get a Single Ripper attachment for my new tractor and thought about building one, but the thickness of metal required I don't have a welder that powerful. Most have said you can buy them cheaper than building just one yourself. Looking at Bro-Tec and MIF as sources.

Like you, I sure do love the Kubota TLB's.

HarleyMonster,

I am on the verge of buying my first tractor to build on a heavily wooded 40 acres in central Texas. I need to do clearing, road work, trenching, construction (house and workshop), ongoing maintenance and eventually a little farming for my own consumption. Its primarily going to be my homestead for the remainder of my life (god willing). I am looking at the l47 as well. I see you have the top and tilt configured on yours. Curious what kinds of problems that solves. I want to see if its something I will regret not adding on to my L47 TLB. I am totally new to this as I have been a disgruntled city dweller for 44 years. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Can't wait to get on my land permanently.
