Ok! Hadn't heard that term before...have to admit I've sniped before![]()
I hadn't heard it in that context either. It makes sense though, because those doing sniping and a sniper both attack from a distance, either with words or with a rifle. This kind of sniping also attacks from a distance, using the longer radius to increase the torque. Whomever first used the term in this context used it as a very accurate metaphor. It fits.
