Top Link question

Sorry for the daft question, but I've just bough a new top link similar to the attached. What is the triangular shaped piece for at the top end, is it simply a different type of locking nut? And does it go at the tractor end or the implement? My old one didn't have it.

That is a jam nut. Once you have the length of the top link set where you want it, tighten the jam nut against the adjuster sleeve to keep the sleeve from moving.

I've never seen one like that, but yes, I'd say it is a type of lock nut ...

I'd put it at whichever end is most convenient for YOU to reach.

Thanks, my old one had normal nuts on both ends. I figured it may be that but wanted to check
