It took a while but I finally finished it. The cylinder and hoses came from a Quality Farm and Country closing sale the link end from my dealer and bought the fittings and couplers new. The block on the tractor end was made by a tool and die freind and the other end welded by a welder friend. Thanks to jinman for the ideas.

Good Job Kevin, congratulations! I don't think there is any handier modification you can do to the tractor. Wait until you use it with a box blade, it's the cat's meow.

Kevin, that is a great job./w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif/w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif/w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif I'm sure it was worth the wait. Now, if you are like me, you'll like it so much you will want a tilt cylinder too. I'm just waiting until my new house is finished before I put two more remotes and a tilt cylinder on mine.

Your "in action" shot shows a log attached to a frame. How do you lift the log to get the chains attached tight enough that the log doesn't slip off? Do you shorten the top arm to its limit, put the lower cross bar of the frame under the end of the log, and lift with the 3pt? Then attach the chains?
Or do you lean the frame all the way back at the top, chain the log to it, and then shorten the top arm to put tension on the chains, then lift and carry the leading end of the log by raising the 3pt arms?

Interesting frame.

I just purchased a Deere iMatch quickhitch, and plan to put my logging tongs on the top hook, thus lifting the end of the log for securing with the logging chain. Will get some pics when it stops raining - if ever!

I will try and get a picture of how I hook-em up in the next few days. But what I do is use a long chain that drapes over the top of the log down the sides to a small chain (18") with slip hooks that goes under the log, then the ends of the long chain hooks onto the frame. That way the log doesn't twist while dragging.
