Top-N-Tilt Kit with Backhoe on L60

Why does Kubota say you cannot have the TNT kit with a backhoe on the L60 series?

Their configurator allows me to add the valves and lever/kits, but it will not allow the TNT kit to be added with a backhoe.

Why is this? Does it have to do with the backhoe subframe getting in the way?

I'd really like to have the TNT option, if not when I order the tractor, then maybe in a year or two. I use my box blade a lot (1000' driveway along with other land leveling I am doing) so the TNT would be very useful. However, at the same point I need a backhoe right now.

I'm thinking maybe I should get the valves at this point and worry about the TNT later, but I'm just wondering if I'll ever be able to use the TNT with tractor setup for the backhoe.

I searched around the forums trying to find a thread discussing this but couldn't find anything. It's possible I overlooked something, but many of the TNT posts were third-party kit installs or DIY.

PS: Currently looking at the L6060HSTC, but this is the same for any L60 series you go through on the online configurator.

Yes you can have T&T, just not the Kubota set, just like what you have found in other threads. So get the valves, 2 with the float feature and worry about the T&T set another time.

Brian, thanks for confirming. Dumb curiosity do you know why Kubota's kit doesn't work? I had come across your site on other threads so I'll probably try to get the valves installed and get one of your kits later. I was considering 1 float detent and 2 double acting. Would that work well for your kits or should I go with 2 floats?

Its a cost thing.

You can use a float valve just the same as a double acting valve. (you dont "have" to detent it into float).

Float is a nice feature "sometimes" for a side link.

Float is a nice feature "sometimes" for a toplink.

But I have never ran across a case where I needed BOTH floating at the same time. I only have one float valve. So if I want float on the toplink, thats what I hook to the float valve. If I want to float the sidelink, I simply swap hoses.

And I too am curious what makes the kubota TNT not work?

I do know that on my old L3400, I had issues with the sidelinks being weak and broke. So I rebuilt them with a salvaged toplink and a little beefier. Sold that tractor to Dad, and he added a BH77. The beefier sidelinks would sometimes interfear with the subframe. Even the OEM ones can be tight and rub sometimes. I'd imagine on his tractor he would have a hard time fitting a a sidelink cylinder in there as it would be alot larger diameter than even my beefier sidelinks. But have no clue why a top link wouldnt work.

I see reasons to have the float feature for both cylinders, but you can get by with just one. But do you really want to save $100 and then have to be swapping hoses when that need arises?? Best to have it and not need it then to need it and not have it IMO. With the cost being relatively low, do you really need to save that $100?

They use 3" cylinders where I use 2 1/2" cylinders. Their ports are 1/2" and mine are 3/8". I believe that the combination of those 2 larger items are the problem.

Another thing, and I may not be up to date, but I believe that Kubota is still having various problems with their T&T sets with several of the models. I believe that they continue to try to go at this as a one size fits all and it DOES NOT. For the tractors that they supply T&T sets for, there should be 4 different sets. I know for a while (over a year) they were trying to get by with only one size, but after more than a year realized that was not working out so good. From that point I'm not sure what they came up with other than there are still problems.

Just as a heads up, my lead times are long, (currently 16-18 weeks) so don't expect to make an order and have what you need in a short time frame, "cause it isn't going to happen". I'm always very busy with no signs of it letting up. :thumbsup:

Not that I have skin in the game and makes no difference to me so you dont have to answer if you dont want.....but curious why the lead times are so long?

Is it a lack of supply issue? Having a hard time getting parts and quality cylinders fast enough? Or is it a manpower/lack of time to build and weld issue? Wondering why you havent hired some help, or is it one of those things that you'd just rather do yourself to make sure its done right since your name is on it?

Something else to consider is a standard detent that can be used to run things like log splitters etc. (that have their own valves)

No problem. Time frame is 100% due to my refusal to hire anyone. Been there done that for 38 years when I was in construction. I'm to old to be a baby sitter at this stage of my life, so I do it all and it's done right, at least 99% of the time.

Currently have 110 orders to fill and I have been getting orders faster than I can build them. My lead times have done nothing but get longer since I started Fit Rite. In January I was at 10-12 weeks. I even stopped selling valves because it just takes up to much time for a number of reasons. As my reputation gets known and spreads, The orders come in, even with the extended lead times that I have to have.

Every once in a while, quality and service is actually worth waiting for. Who knew?

Ah thanks, I wasn't sure if both types returned to center when you let go of them. My current tractor the SCV doesn't float but it always returns to center when you let go of it. So I suppose the float is like your loader where you have to push it to a certain point where it sticks, and otherwise it just returns back to center? Sorry for my ignorance, I've not used them in the past but figured I might invest in them so I could do the TNT for leveling. I agree with Brian's statement on the cost, if they are not different from a functionality standpoint other than getting the float for $100, it's probably worth it up front.

Its a good feeling to know that you can make as much money as you desire with a waiting list like that. I was wondering if it was a supplier issue or a manpower thing. I fully understand not wanting to hire someone. But it does kinda put a cap on the potential growth of the business at whatever you are able to produce in a given year. But I guess thats better than loosing business and reputation with others doing the work.

Yep, just like your front loader. Float is a 4th position detent. If you dont push the valve into float, it will spring return
