Kubota GL 4330, Toro 522xi Garden Tractor w/dual rear tires & 42" MMM
Talked to my dealer today about a TNT for my L4330. For the Kubota setup he said it would be $1700 installed, which includes, cylinder, remote, hoses, etc. Is this reasonable or way out in left field? He's installing one next week on a 4330 and I'm going to go check it out. Thanks in advance for any info.

Hmm, lets see. A pair of Kubota factory rear remotes (one for top link and one for tilt link) are about $1000. The factory Kubota cylinders are $700. Hoses and fittings another $100. Plus his labor. Price sounds reasonable.

However, the 2 cylinders from Kubota do not have check valves. If it was my tractor and my money I would have the Kubota remotes installed and then buy cylinders with check valves from CCM when their next shipment arrives in the next few weeks. They will also be cheaper than the over priced Kubota cylinders.

The check valves on the cylinders are the key. Do some searching here on TBN and you will find most people swear by the check valves. No leak down at all.

Thanks for the quick reply. I guess it is pretty reasonable considering all involved. Thanks also for the heads up about the cylinders. I did a search for CCM and came up with nada. Do you have a link or contact info?

I have a practically brand new all Kubota setup on my L5030HSTC. I'll make you a heck of a deal on the cylinders. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif Kubota should be shot over such crap!!!! /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif Not that they give a rat's behind, but I'm letting my regional Kubota rep hear about their garbage next Friday. Yeah, I know, he may hear about this post. BIG DEAL!

Compared to the quality you'd expect from Kubota, especially for the premium price, their T&T cylinders are absolute leaky garbage! They will leak down about a foot or more in a half an hour. Worse yet, Kubota won't do anything about that and claim that because I used quick couplers for the setup (as opposed to having them hard plumbed) that that amount of leak down is normal! /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif What the heck!? The last time I checked the front loaders are attached via quick couplers!!

Sorry for the rant, but I rather strongly feel that Kubota should have a disclaimer that their cylinders leak down so fast that you have to constantly bump your hydro lever to keep them level when operating them. As far as I'm concerned, Kubota flat stole $700 from me. There is absolutely no way in you know where that I'd ever buy T&T cylinders from Kubota ever again.

Did I beat around the bush too much? /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Oh yeah, if you talk to CCM about T&T cylinders for your Kubota, see if they will make a package deal for two sets. I'm serious. The ones I got from Kubota are garbage!

CCM website.

BTW, I have the CCM setup and have not had any leakdown problem at all, the check valve cylinders are the only way to go. The darn 3PH will drop after a while, but the TnT stays wherever I put it.

I have the CCM top link. My link will leak down over 3-4 days with the wait of the bush hog on it. It is possible that a paint chip got inside it when I pulled the pipe plugs out. If I get seriously concerned I will reverse the cylinder to see if it leaks the same. It is also possible that the leakage is at the remote valve. The lever on that one drags on the side of its slot so may not be in exact neutral.

However don't be thinking that I am less than pleased with the top link. When I have need of the side link I will purchase that too.

I've been waiting 6 weeks on CCM to get category 1 TNT cylinders. They are due in at the end of the month. They changed suppliers and are waiting. Just thought ya'll might want to know!

Dargo, you might want to take your top link cylinder to a professional hydralulic shop and see if they can add the piloted check valve system to the existing cylinder. That may resolve the leak down problem and far less cost than buying a new cylinder? The shop I use is fairly large, they do a lot of industrial work, but they seemed familar with the piloted check valve systems (but did not keep them in stock).

I have the CCM cylinder and have no leakdown problems with mine at all (I use smaller implements than you so that may the explination) but I took mine to the shop and had them put quick connects on the cylinder for me and have had no leak down issues since installing the quick connects. I can't imagine the quick connects have anything to do with leak down if they are connected properly.

I ordered Kubota top and tilt with my 4330 and returned it to the dealer. Here's the thread for details: TnT part 1

Then I replaced it with Integration Engineering cylinders and am satisfied. Here's the detail on IE: TnT part 2
