\"TOP\" Position on BX2200 MMM height selector

I have never been able to get the height selector on my BX2200 in the "TOP" position, which I understand keeps the mower in the full elevated position even if the lift goes down.

While doing my 50 hour service I had the MMM off and noticed that I could put the height selector in the "TOP" position with no problem and indeed it kept the mower links all the way up when the lift was down.

I guess that tells me that the MMM isn't coming all the way up when the lift is in it's highest position to allow the height selector to get to the "TOP".

Should I shorten the link adjustments the same on both sides of the mower to see if that will make the MMM lift higher? Has anyone else had a similar problem?

Thanks
TomPh

Shorten the lift links thill the deck is high enough that the MMM will lock with the knob. Use the book as a "guide" only on the adjustment. J

Re: \"TOP\" Position on BX2200 MMM height selector

TomPh,

I had the same problem but I found that if I pulled the 3pt lift lever back and let it stop (return to carry position) by itself, the MMM wasn't high enough to get to the top position. I found that if after the 3 pt lift lever returns to carry position, I could then pull the lever back again and the MMM would lift a little higher and I could engage the "Top" position. I also have to pull the lever back to raise the MMM a little to turn the dial from the "top" position. That's what I do, whether its right or wrong, it seems to work.

I had this problem on delivery. Shorten the lift link under the right hand of the seat. You will see two nuts locked together over a solid bushing on a fair sized shaft. This is detailed pretty well in the manual...take it easy, it probably won't take much.

TomPH,
I had exactly the same problem as Scott. Raise the deck, and raise it again holding the lever back until you hear it complain. That's the only way I can get mine into TOP. It doesn't go all the way up without kicking out without holding it back.

TomPH,
I had (have) the same problem. A combination of charliebrn's adjustment and Scott's technique do the trick for me.
