Tractor
John Deere 4310 Power Reverser Model
Hello Everyone,
As I posted before my husband has been wanting to add a tilt function to the John Deere 4310 tractor.
here is the progress:
We have an existing top link,
He added a side link hydraulic.
We bought Side Link Cat. 1: 16 1/8" - 22 7/16" by Agri-store USA

Category 1 hydraulic Double piloted check valve prevents drift 6 inch stroke from 16-22"
High quality ball ends on both sides 6700 lbs pushing, 4300 lbs lifting.
Now I need to plumb the lines. it was suggested to save money use a diverter

or unplug 2 hydraulic lines on my loader & plug in the side link when I need it.......
He would like to take the top link connections & change it to a 4 way stick, as on my front loader. bucket
Is this possible? Rather than a 12 volt 3rd function hydraulic valve kit or manual valve

Something like this?

OR~

With Float

Or what would you recommend???

Thanks

A top and tilt kit will make your tractor so much more versatile when it comes to using 3pt implements. Good decision.

I would absolutely go the diverter route. We are in the process of doing this to our JD4105. This prevents you from having to move hoses every time you want to use the second cylinder on the rear. How do you currently control your rear remotes? I presume it is actuated with a lever and is not a button (electric over hydraulic). Regardless, when you add the diverter, you will continue to actuate the rear remotes as you always have, the only difference is that you will then flip a small lever on the diverter to switch the flow of fluid from your top link to your side link. It is really a great setup. I don't know how much of a hurry you are in, but when we finish it, we will put up a video on our YouTube page (link in signature) to explain how it all works. Best of luck!

I'll second the diverter route. I would not use the chief valve you link to on amazon, it's intended for a different purpose and will have to be plumbed in a little differently. No reason to make it more complex than necessary. Use something like the valve in your attached photo, that way you can select which cylinder you want to operate with the selector, and everything else works without changes. You'll need the diverter and 4 hoses (2 from your hydraulic coupling, 2 to the top cylinder, and you already have the 2 to your side link cylinder)
