Top & Tilt for 4200?

Gary,

You lucky dog!

Can't help with the prices, but if you search & surf around TBN you should find what others have paid. Sounds like you've got a decent relationship with this guy. Might be worth the extra $$ (if any) it costs you to buy from him, just to be sure he buys his next truck from you! I'd have him quote it up and then you can ask here if it is a reasonable amount.

The 4 postion valve sounds cool. Might be more $$$. Also need to check that you have enough room on your fender to swing it left & right without hitting the seat or other obstacle.

Wouldn't I need a third and fourth selector valve if I'm going to go with top and tilt on this?

Actually I think you might need the what is called the 4th and 5th selector valve. I could easily be wrong about that though. What I know about this stuff I learned on the Deere build and accessorize site. The dealers are usually not much help with the finer details of accessories. This is for the 4210 but i think most options can be applied to the 4200 too. I hope this link to it works :

I think the cheapest way for me is to use the single 3rd selector outlets and plug in a diverter box. You can swith the direction of the flow so that a single valve lever can be use in two directions. The diverter box is like a A/B switch so a single port can control two separate cylinders. I have seen these diverter boxes on many hydraulic supply webs sites.

My "Hydraulics Guy" asked what size hydraulic cylinders I need in each place. Anyone know what I'll need or what would work best in each place? I'm hoping the Deere dealer has those dimensions for me on theirs but as it's going to be Monday before I can ask them.

Besides, I wanted to know what the TBN braintrust has determined to be best. Engineering and research is one thing. Real world experience is what I hope to learn. If anyone has one from Deere I'd love to hear what you wish they'd done differently.

Also, any ideas on the best place to mount the controls and how best to mount them on my 4200?
