Tore my hydraulic hose

I have a Kubota 7510 I scraped the steel line today and have fluid everywhere. It is just a small cut. Is there a way to splice or fix the line without repacing the whole line???

I'm sure steel line can be spliced or repaired with the proper line, flares and fittings but with the amount of hydraulic pressure involved I'd say to replace the whole line.

I would also replace the whole line. Go to a shop that does hydraulic work, and take them the line. Let them make you a new one if needed or repair the old one. Think of it as a big brake line on your truck. You most likely would fix it correctly.

Yes you can depend on how large and where it is. Parker makes compression fittings rated at 5000psi. Thee tough part is location and room they take up might rub holes in adjacent lines.

Swagelok makes fittings for hydraulic applications that would work, but they're really expensive. Don't think about using anything you buy at your local hardware store. You can also silver solder or braze a repair, but would have to remove line to do that. I'd either get a new part from Kubota, or take the existing line to a hydraulic shop, they can make one up for you.

I weld them all the time, customer is usually happy to pay $20 verses more for a new line. I have repaired them for 5500PSI hydrostatic systems with no issues. CJ
