I have a Toro 244H, 42" deck with a 14hp Onan engine, it has 800 hours on the clock, regularly serviced and no real hard work since I bought it new back in '92.
I've had a look at some new ride on mowers, when I mention my current machine the usual reply is that it is near the end of its life. That of course could be them trying to make a sale!
What sort of life would you expect from a machine like mine, is 800 hours getting near the limit?

That machine has plenty of life left in it. Rebuild the Onan when it becomes necessary and you'll have it another 14 years.

JohnSinVa thanks for your reply.
I've just spent a bit of money with repairs on the machine and was wondering if in future it was worth spending more. The Onan is fine, but in the last year or so I've found the transmission becoming a bit "jerky", even with a new drive belt which is adjusted correctly.
I guess time will tell, thanks again.
