Hey Toro fans! I got a Toro 4100-D I am trying to fix up. The center deck idler arm, left side was loose and dug into the bottom of the deck. It seemed to me the bushings were worn so I was going to replace them and then said I may as well replace the entire thing, arm, bushings, washers, springs...everything connected to it while it is taken apart. I rebuilt it and put it back on the deck to find the idler arm is still wobbly and has a lot of play like before, even with the new bushings. I noticed the old idler arm (original I think) seem to be bent upwards a bit but it was still rubbing into the bottom of the deck. I am concerned because there is nothing else to replace to make this repair. There is the piece that the idler arm goes on where the idler arm slides over. This piece appears to be permanent and can not be removed. I am starting to think that this piece is worn out due to the previous owner not greasing often enough or at all. Any advice how I can get this idler arm to fit properly and work properly..ie, not dig into the bottom of the deck and fit snug without any play? Please help. Between having parts shipped, getting the wrong parts, and now this, I have not cut my field in 4 weeks!! Need advice. TY
