Justin,I've got the 28hp Kubota in my Grasshopper and have had no problems.IMO if you are going to spend big $ on a ZTR you should check out the front mount decks. russ

I second the recommendation to look at front mounts. I bought a Bad Boy ZTR this year. My neighbor (whose whole property is in grass) bought a JD front mount.

I really like my BadBoy but the front mount has 2 significant advantages.
1. You can mow close to fences and obstacles in front of the mower. I cannot get close in corners.

2. You can tilt the front mount deck up. This allows easy access for maintenance and a smaller footprint when parked.

The reason I was considering the Gravely and Toro is that they are the two I found to be most comfortable other than Deere, which doesn't have too good of a reputation as of late.

Justin, Take a look at the Deere 997 Diesel - the Z800A Series mowers were the ones that had a few issues - that has never been a problem with the 997 as it is a completely different unit. Available with 60" and 72" decks.
