toro wheelhorse trans. how much to charge

i am working on a toro 12-38, i am replacing the trans for the guy and i was wondering about how much to charge him. what would be far but i want to make alittle to. should take about 3 to 4 hours i hope to swap out. <font color="blue"> </font> thanks ron

I think it really depends on how much time it takes you to do the job.

I'm a little hesitant to jump in here, but I will /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif I'm assuming you are not a mechanic shop or similar, but someone with mechanical skills. If it were me and he was a neighbor or friend I'd probably offer to do if for free. He would probably reciprocate the favor with help for you in the future. If he didn't, that would be ok, too. If it were just an aquaintance or stranger I think ~$15/hr is fair to both of you. Just my opinion.

I think in the tractor you mention it has a normal peerless transaxle. They arent too hard to do. I would ask for a crate of beer or something.
