total price on radiant heat

I have installed one in my house without the boiler. A friend of mine had one in his house with the boiler. He liked it alot. Easy to install and hook up. I think you pay a little extra than if you bought all the parts yourself. However, its nice to unscrew the box its shipped in and then mount the panel to the wall add some wiring, and a couple plumbing lines and then your done.
Mine will be running off a seperate boiler that is running my air handlers. The radiant is only being used under the tile areas of the house, basement and garage.

I don't disagree. That is far too much for a job like that, but..... if they can get it, it is just like the gas prices at the pump. It is all based on supply and demand. If no one pays that price, they will either go out of business or lower their prices.

I do most things myself, because everytime I consider hiring someone and then see their prices I have second thoughts. I know they need to make a living, but that's not really my problem, now is it? It all depends on how much your own time is worth. If you are an attorney or a doctor, and charge $200+ per hour, then $60, $80 or even $100 to hire a plumber seems like pocket change. On the other hand, if you average $20 an hour for your time, then $80 to hire someone is a little hard to swallow.

Granted, if they do it themselves it means they have to know what they are doing, and I am of the opinion that just about anyone can learn to do most things if they really put their minds to it and want to learn. But that again takes time, so what is your time worth?
