I don't like the look of rust either. But you maybe have no idea about the utter mayhem that salt can cause in a complex electrical/electronic system.

I sure do. Mentioned it in post #3.
Also I’ve been plowing and salting for close to 40 years. Can’t tell you how much time I spend rinsing off equipment top & bottom to preserve all those electrical connectors

Many shops can repair stuff mechanical but are totally out of their element with a sketchy wiring harness and connectors due to salt.

I’ll tell ya, I am so looking forward to the toolcat with the mowers. This has been something I’ve wanted for years.

The thing about the 5610 is it allows the user to run 2 "powered" implements at same time (at least I think so LOL)

You can carry 2 "powered" implements at same time, but since the PTO is a hydraulic, you can only run one or the other. :(

Yeah I kind of thought that might be the case, but still more versatile than a 5600 to be able to carry 2 implements.
I can run both PTOs on my Massey 7495, but mechanical

HayDude,

I'm sure you've seen these, but they make a 3 pt hitch that mounts on a 5600:

3-point hitch - Farmboy HD | UTV Hitchworks - Maineville, Ohio

Not as high lift rating as the 5610, but if you've got time and fabrication skills, I'm sure you could mount it more securely than just on the hitch receiver. Add a remote or two, and it seems like a decent set up. I don't know about visibility with the bed though.

Obviously, no PTO, but I haven't heard great things about the 25 horse hydraulic PTO anyways. And most implements/attachments are going to perform much better when they're designed for high flow hydraulics on a SSQA out front anyways. I dunno...

I was weighing this when I couldn't find many 5610s. I searched high and low for a 5610 and all I'm planning on putting on the 3 pt are some forks or a box blade

I used these websites to look for one:
Craigslist
TractorHouse
MachineryTrader
EquipmentTrader
RitchieBros
Facebook Marketplace

Idaho Cow Vet. Good information, thanks.
Yes I did see that. It’s a nice idea and may be worth a shot. I was actually thinking of one for my pickup truck to carry a round bale to customers hay feeders, but I’d need an auxiliary pump
I really wouldn’t have a problem with a 5600, but since I don’t need one right now, I have a little time to keep looking for one.

If anyone sees a good buy on a used unit under 35k, please let me know

I was in the exact same position as you a month a go (well a few months I guess but pulled the trigger a month a go). Ended with a clean(er) 5600 over a beat up or overpriced 5610. Dont get a rusty one, you won't be happy! I favored a 2014+ with traction control but was same as you looking at 2010+ as minimum. I ended with a 2016 5600 with high flow and traction control with 2140 hrs for $32.5k delivered to my door. A little higher hours than I preferred but was a clean machine with minimal rust or damage. Privately owned. I do want a pto and may buy a front 3 point and pto attachment or may keep looking for a 5610 or may just live with it as is. So far happy with the 5600 and so far in mud and snow I think I would regret it if I didn't have traction control. Searchtempest can help with national CL search. Found mine on tractor house.

Found a nice 2016 5600 ~1000 hours for 36,900. Won’t budge on price. And it’s a 500 mile drive to go get.
The thing I didn’t realize is most equipment lenders won’t finance an older machine anymore. I used to be able to get even long term (5 year) on 7,8, 9 year old stuff. My primary source of equipment financing won’t even finance a 2012 for 3 years..
They want me buying at least a 2014 machine!
Really would like to stay in low 30’s so I can buy a couple mowers.
Found a 2011 locally with 1000 hours, but has light rust 35k
