Tow behind roller

I did something like that with my tow-behind aerator. It worked, but the aerator didn't like it very much. It was a little hard to steer, but it did the job.

I may try it anyway and powder river and let er buck. If it goes bad I can always make it back the way it was in the shop.:licking::p

Simplest fix is to lengthen the tongue of the roller and then it will back much easier. [/QUOTE

My thoughts exactly, after reading the primary problem with turning around,,, That's what I would do, lengthening the tongue should make it easier to back up with,,, also make sure draw bar is locked down side to side so it doesn't "flop"! Good luck with the project! I use an old roller I converted off a actual road asphalt compactor, it's a 1" thick steel roller with water in it, I'm guessing it's close to 10,000+ lbs, that I got for $150. I Have the same problem as you with the road,, (not the turning around part) ruts from winter, grading it with a turkey tail, usually brings up baseball sized rocks,,, the roller makes em go back in!:D
