Tow hitch off the 3 point linkage counter weight

Pretty easy to chain the three point down.

Hitching to the three point raises the center of gravity of the tractor's attachment point.

For light loads I wouldn't be so concerned, but as weight goes up, the potential leverage exerted will grow.

Pushes and pulls on the tractor will be more influential the higher up your attachment point is, and you'll end up with 'moments' of pushing and pulling on the three points attachments links.

The drawbar is there for towing; 3 pt is for implements.

I did put a receiver on the end of my box blade, and on the bucket for moving unloaded trailers around. Both work fine, but they aren't intended to work with.

I have a logging winch that has a hitch on it as well. Towing from the hitch can be done and is done, but I would be cautious, as the 3 pt is made for pulling. I worry heavy weights could crack castings.

I think for an insignificant weight and load--light enough to be dragged sideways against one attachment of the three point without damaging it--or a smooth level pull you don't risk a lot of damage.

Up hill, downhill, rough terrain or sideways and there will be pushes and pulls against any one or all three attachment points and risks damage.

The trailer you mention sounds pretty harmless at 1000#; loaded would get progressively more dangerous to try at any slope.

Thanks guys, I think I will er on the side of caution. If my tractor was a few horses bigger and the 3 point more heavy duty it would probably be ok. Thanks for your advice and comments

Titan Attachments actually makes several models of what you need if you take the current counter wight off. You can get a great deal bidding on their stuff on Ebay

Adapters, Titan Fitness items in Titan Attachments store on eBay!

I have the 3pt goose neck/hay spear model and it works great for moving my trailer. I also bid on a quick attach receiver hitch for the loader to do the same, with a bit more finesse to back the trailer into the barn.

Also if you search Ebay for similar products there are several 3pt hitches that take suitcase weights and have the hitch you need too.

I just put a ball on my draw bar and tow my 5 by 10 trailer (900#, 2000# capacity) loaded with no problem. Wouldn't care to do it off the 3PTH.

I agree Tony, I'll just tow off the draw bar. Just means I'll have to take off the counter weight.

I routine hitch my TN 55 NH with cat 2 3 pt and bale spike to a single axle bale trailer and load with 7 1500# bales (10500#) to bring in hay from the field to storage lot. I keep the 3pt low and probably 2000# on the bale spike from a long tongue.

But you're talking about a completely different class of tractor and 3PTH.

I'd think that 3510 could pull any trailered load around the farm via the 3pt that the average half-ton pickup could take down the road. As stated keep it heavy on the tongue or tie down the 3pt to keep it low.

Local place that sells and services trailers has one of these on their Kubota they use on the lot.

They move some huge trailers with a rather tiny tractor.

Can you further reference or show what hitches you refer to? Thanks.

Here is what I'm using: 5000 lb. Step Bumper Receiver

I tried to attach a picture of my ballast box with the hitch on it, but my tablet browser is not being cooperative.

You have to look really close at the bottom center of the BB.
