Towing a trailer with the tractor

/ Towing a trailer with the tractor #11
I towed my small trailer the other day with random stuff from a house move down to my shed. I just mounted a ball to the draw bar and it worked well for me. image.jpg

I mounted a ball on my boxblade and use it to move trailers all the time without leaving the cab. I keep the box blade on the tractor most of the time so it's almost always ready to move a trailer.

I did the same thing. Found one of the old reese bumper mount hitches and adapted it to my boxblade. Now I can put anything on the boxblade that will go on a hitch and the box blade is heavy enough I've never had my dump lift it (although it will pop right up off the ball if you forget to latch it).

Bolted, welded, and extra supports added...

I also use it with one of these to strap some weight on if I really need the boxblade to dig well in hard soil.

stay straps... the go from the end of the lower lift arms, up to some place near the top link were it attaches to tractor.

extra stuff, slow motion sign on rear end, and most likely trailer lights will be needed if roading it.

Hay is that an LMC box blade? It looks just like mine with a few added extras.

Yes sir it is the 6' model. Only added the two diagonal flatbars, another flatbar between the tabs the lower link pins are on, and the Reese bumper mount hitch assembly. I have a thread about it here:

I had to weld two 1/2"x3"x3" steel extensions on the top rear of the center link arm connection and move the support braces back so the quick connect would hook up. It wasn't too hard other than the steel. I cut the pieces of steel out of an old set of brush hog blades man is that hard steel!
