Towing Ford 3000 with a 2500HD Silverado 6.0?

That set up will be fine. There are lots of local companies that use gas 2500HD's and bp trailers to move equipment. One uses a 2500HD w/ a gn, but they already had the trailer (use to use a heavy half before that).

I tow my pb triple axle equipment trailer w/ my E350 7.3L PS diesel van. Axle ratio is not made for fast get up and go, but on flats it does fine.

Like the others said you will be fine as long as you remember to leave extra room for stopping. Make sure if you borrow a trailer the brakes are functional and if you bu one get brakes on both axles. The gooseneck vs bumper pull has been beat pretty well on here, best I could say is find someone with a gooseneck that you could take for a test drive and make your own decision.
