Rake TR3 Rake

I first heard about the TR3 rake about a month ago. I've only seen one comment for and one against. It is fairly pricey around $3000 so I wanted to do a little research first. Anyone out there have one and do you like it and would you recommend it to others? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

You might want to take a look at the Landpride scarifier/landscape rake combo- the rake will piggy-back on the scarifier. I've never used one- maybe there's someone out there who has.

For twice that you could get a Harley rake.

True, but with the Harley, you need to have the hydraulics. Not so with the TR3.

I've got a TR3 and I agree that all other things aside, the harley can do some things that the TR3 can't. But the extra $3,000-$4,500 is a little tough to swallow for some.

The TR3 can rip down ~6-8" below the surface, I don't know if the Harley gets down that far. It looks like the Harley can get right up against the edge of stuff better than the TR3.

Has anybody used both of these? Any opinions if so?

There are PTO powered rakes too... The skid steer uits are all hydraulic, the 3-point rakes come in full hyraulic, PTO with hydraulic control, or PTO and manual control.

I used one about a month ago to rip out weeds and get the yard ready for seed. It worked great. I rented it for $110 a day at a local tool rental shop. $3000 is a little steep since it is just a hunk of steel welded together.

I can make this TR3 rake for less than $1000 at any of agriturk.com factories.

Yes, you can build it at home. Seems not difficult. Its balance may not be as good as that TR3's, but will certainly do your need.

What is the TR3 Rake used for? What is a TR3 Rake? I have never heard of them.
