So today I made up 2 screen type inserts to help reduce the amount of particles it spits out yet still let air exhaust from the enclosed trailer. I sandwiched mesh screen between 2 frames made out of azek type plastic, for the mesh I used a few cheap fluorescent orange traffic flags.

So do you just tap on the orange filters and the collected dust and what not falls back down into the trailor when your emptying it ? Or do the remove somehow to clean up ? Or do they even hold much dust ?

ditzel,

Have you used it enough with the new filters to get a feel for how much they reduce the air flow? Cutting down the trash blown out seems like a good idea. But I use mine without a mower to pick up leaves from the ditches along my driveway, and it sometimes plugs as is. I wonder if they would reduce air flow enough to make the plugging worse?

Yup, just tap it and it falls down. I originally was going to mount the screens outside on top of the trailer;s wire mesh, but after thinking about it, debris that could fit through wire mesh but not through the screen would get trapped.

Just finished making it yesterday and tried it for a little while, I did not notice any reduction in airflow, and no clogging yet. I will be using it today and will see how it works, I'll keep you posted.

Filled it 3 times today, no problems with clogging or anything. Worked like a charm.
